The importance of IRL meetings

I talk to a lot of folks online and feel like most folks are friends in some way shape or form. However when I have met folks offline and in person these relationships have turned into great friendships with people who I may not have met two or three years ago without social channels.

This video offers some views from two people who I became friends with offline after having tons of varying conversations online.

Do you see benefits of meeting people in real life or do you keep Web and physical friends in different buckets?

It's good to have a healthy balance of both. If I'm going to be in an area where an online friend is at, it's great to meet up.

Sometimes people aren't at all what you expect them to be in person though, simply because they have an easier time communicating their thoughts in a text based medium.
