Five for Friday 12.3.10

MovemberMan this was a busy week. First off Mrs. Espo and I found out the sex of Baby Espo who will be making a grand appearance in late April of 2011. Then I found that the MRI of my shoulder was no bueno after being run over by a car a few months back so there may be some surgery needed. So there was a good and bad, but hey its Friday so I can’t be too mad, plus last night was the Movember Gala (more to come next week) where all the MoBros and MoSistas came together for some celebratory beverages. Please note that you can still donate to the cause until December 9: http://bit.ly/MoEspo.  Also would love some feedback on this week’s use of video posts. What are you up to this weekend? Hopefully something good, if not, hopefully this week’s edition of Five for Friday will make you smile.

A Bully Finds a Pulpit on the Web – I am not going to lie, but this is the most disturbing article I have read in a long time. I am not sure what is worse, that this guy is allowed to be in business, or that no one stood up to the customer. It goes to show you that in some instances, there is no such thing as bad PR.

Flipping Off the Customer for Fun and Profit – This is a response post from Chris Carfi to the NYT piece above. One of the more interesting things of his post is the tag cloud that breaks down the long article to important topics, can you guess what ones dominated it?

Social Media Data: The Benefits of Friends – This AdWeek piece caught my eye, because it discusses the potential of value in mining social data and who will emerge as the best in class.

All social media experts “are actually the same person,” Wikileaks documents reveal – This is just a funny piece from Julien Smith that goes to show why In Over Your Head is my current favorite blog. Not only is it smart with a different spin on things, but also great humor at times as well.

Social Media Addiction: Are You At Risk? – In keeping with the vibe of video posts, here’s a funny video to poke fun at all of us.
